Nextdoor Network
Clay Fire has partnership with Nextdoor (www.nextdoor.com), the world’s largest social network for neighborhoods, to build stronger, safer communities with the help of residents.
This integration with Nextdoor will enable Clay Fire to communicate online with neighborhoods in Clay, German, Harris Townships, the towns of Roseland and Indian Village. Residents and Clay Fire officials will be able to work together to increase safety, awareness, and prevention efforts for fire and medical emergencies.
“We have always searched for innovative ways to increase safety for our residents,” said Fire Chief Timm Schabbel. “With Nextdoor, we can empower neighbors to learn more about ways to prevent and minimize the dangers caused by fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous conditions.”
Nextdoor has proven to be an essential and well-adopted tool with more than 60 neighborhoods using Nextdoor across Clay Fire’s jurisdiction.
With Nextdoor, residents can create private neighborhood websites to share information, including neighborhood public safety issues, community events and activities.
Clay Fire will be able to share helpful information with Nextdoor members, such as important emergency notifications, fire precautions, medical emergency tips, details for events and educational programs, and updates on activity affecting the local area.
Nextdoor is free app for residents. Each neighborhood has its own or can establish a private Nextdoor neighborhood website, accessible only to residents of that neighborhood. Neighborhoods establish and self-manage their own Nextdoor website. All members must verify that they live within the neighborhood before joining Nextdoor. Information shared on Nextdoor is password protected and cannot be accessed by Google or other search engines.
Clay Fire joins thousands of public agencies across the country who are using Nextdoor for Public Agencies to better connect with the residents they serve.
Those interested in joining their neighborhood’s Nextdoor website can visit nextdoor.com and enter their address.
